Somerset East / West – 50th Anniversary, Emergency Services Open Day

On Saturday 14th September, Avon and Somerset Police and Avon Fire & Rescue Service will be opening the doors to their Headquarters in Portishead in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the formation of both of our organisations. The day will run from 10:30 to 16:00.

This is our first open day in five years, and traditionally it has been an extremely popular event with tickets selling out within minutes every year. The first release of tickets will take place on Thursday 22nd August, with two further releases due to take place in the following weeks.

We can’t wait for everyone to join us on what will be an action-packed and fun-filled day for all the family. There will be displays from our dog, horse, public order and firearms teams. Avon Fire & Rescue Service will have some of their specialist equipment and vehicles on display, including a hovercraft, lifeboat and drone. They will also be running demonstrations showing their response to a road traffic collision, the deployment of the turntable ladder, and the work of their Urban Search and Rescue Team.

How to get tickets

Tickets are free and will be available on Thursday 22nd August at 15:00.

There will be two more ticket releases on Friday 30th August at 10:00 and Wednesday 4th September at 19:00.

We will release the tickets on the website, so please check back on each release date.
